Feeding an animal is not typical for this type of food. Carnivorous-carbohydrates (cereals, bread, pasta, etc.). Herbivores-excessive feeding of protein-containing food, in particular, a large amount of oats to horses leads to a variety of problems: from colic, to acute rheumatism and periodic eye ophthalmia. It is scientifically confirmed that an excess of carbohydrates in the dog’s diet leads to a number of disorders, the main of which is a decrease in resistance and various parts of the immune system, which is accompanied by chronic inflammatory processes that owners try unsuccessfully to cure with antibiotics. The epigraph of this work is the statement of a specialist in the field of animal feeding for a reason. This phrase reflects the whole essence of the problem of feeding animals and is the main rule of feeding any animals (and humans). This is especially true for highly specialized species of animals, such as herbivores and carnivores, since mixotrophophores (bear, pig, and… man) are characterized by a diverse diet, but at the same time they also have their own laws of norms and quality of food consumed.
The reason for writing this article was the ongoing discussion about what to feed dogs and cats, what diet is better for them. Although we must pay tribute to most of the issues and problems of feeding — the merit of manufacturers of ready-made commercial feed and nothing more. Continue reading
