According to ornithologists, 8 out of 10 Tits die of starvation in cold winters. Feeders and feeding grounds allow you to save more than half of the birds. It is especially difficult for birds to look for food during heavy snowfalls and frosts.
Urban birds: ducks, pigeons, and sparrows are sedentary synanthropes. Searching for natural food will not allow them to survive the winter on their own. They either search for waste in landfills or feed in public places.
